I had a frogspawn in my 65 which had the same lighting as yours. I had the coral on the lower 3rd of the tank and it did fine. I did have trouble with zoa's not growing but they did not die.

I think you will be fine have fun.

Xenia given the right circumstances does indeed grow like crazy. The two small stalks I introduced to my tank have multiplied to 10 inside a month and change.

Does pulsing xenias really mean that your tank parameters are optimal? (temp, cal, mg etc)

I take my xenia frags to the lfs, if it is on a small chunk of rock he will give me half of what he sells it for, generally I get around 15 bucks for a nice stalk on a rock. I let my xenia grow pretty large before I take them in. I have made enough doing this to replace all my lightbulbs, buy fish, supplements and equipment. Well over $300 now, just from xenia. I love this stuff, its like watching money grow.

Do you mean does the pulsing action indicate parameters are optimal?

Not really... yes... optimal for it I guess... but these things will pulse in one perfect param tank and not in the next. Nobody, as far as I know, is actually sure what parameter, if any, is related to the pulsing.

I would say no, the pulsing is not related to the parameters we generally talk about here. It's still an unknown. I've seen them pulse in non optimal tanks and I've seen them not pulse in optimal param tanks... there is something else going on here.
