i have had a beautiful rock of pulsing xenia in my tank for 6 months. it grew enough that i fagged a piece of it once. it has been turning white right where the stalk is attached to the rock...that white moves up the stalk within a day and it just seems to melt away. it has been doing it one stalk at a time i used to have 7 huge stalks now i only have 3. what the heck is happening. there have been no changes in the tank i water change weekly.

I say this with all respect and kindness. Don't bother. Don't fret over it. So many of us have had the exact or similar thing happen. Once one starts to go (for no apparent reason) it is very rare it will be saved or come back.

it is fairly calm flow where it is....not stagnant by any means the water flows through the area. i put it there so you could really notice the pumping. it did fine in the spot for many months. i use ro/di water for everything with my tank.

Put your xenia frags against empty wall space and it will attach to the wall insanely quick and grow up it. Placing mine next to a wall resulted in full attachment to the wall and detachment from the plug withtin two weeks. they always leave half or less of itself behind on the plug so you can move it. Cool thing to try if any of yours lives!
