nope doesnt mess with anything, he's in with sps, lps, softies, clams, large cleaner shrimp, urchin, snails, crabs, fish, and he's left everyone alone. Only thing that he has gone after was my hitchhiking tunicates on my brain but that's only once in a while. When i first put him in the tank he did go after my zoas and cloves but i think he was just tasting them to find out what they were, but after that he's left everything alone

he used to go be a very mean back when i first got him. He was an impulse by at the time i had him in my 20gallon freshwater community. After a couple of days having him i found all of my fish floating at the top of the tank with chunkcs bitten out of them and there he was just swimming around like nothing ever happend, i was in love with him so i couldnt get mad. So since then i did loads of research had him go through the fresh/brackish/salt stage, he never ate the freshwater snails for his teeth, i decided to try crickets since i have them for my toads and he LOVED them, and they were hard enough to trim down his teeth.

Back when he was in the 20 he had been by himself for around 3 years, but since i turned that tank to full saltwater i had been getting the urge to try some fish. I eventually got a purple psedochromis and a damsel to try, the psedo bullied him very badly, i was really surprised to see him cowering in a corner of the tank after how aggressive he used to be, he left the damsel alone, but the psedo killed the damsel, so i got the psedo out.

After seeing how docile he had turned i wanted to put him in the 20 but i was worried about him going after the fish and my shrimp and urchin. So just as a test i put a hermit and a couple snails, looked at them but didnt touch them at all, then i wanted to try him in the 46 and he has been perfect with everything and has been eating everything, before he would only eat bloodworms, so i guess he is happier now :)

well lol that's the live long story of my puffer lol, didnt mean for it to be this long of a post

I too have the same kind of puffer and he's always been good to other fish and has been fine wit the CUC.

They have great personalities and by PC's and my experience I'd say they are the only reef safe puffer.

But who knows ours may be the exceptions.

sometimes your just lucky with the fish you get i have had a valentini puffer that left my corals alone and currently have a niger trigger that leaves them alone...

hopefully all is well with your puffer i would just keep an eye on it (no pun intended) and see if anything changes or it shows other symptoms of something and i dont know if you soak your fish food but that may be helpful in fighting off the possible infection (like Vitamin C or Amino Acids, just stuff to help the immune system)
