I know most people dont know about the Green Spotted Puffers on here, but in general can fish's eyes change color?? I was looking at him today and both eyes are partially blue, they have always been full black. Doesnt look like its a disease or anything, just odd. I cant get it to turn out in pics but ill try again later.

Any idea if this is normal?

the blue may be cloudiness from a infection.

In my expierence most puffers have bluish tint to there eyes, but then again most puffers I see also have some cloudiness in them.

yea his eye's were always black, if anything they had a yellowish tint but those were the i guess you could call them eyebrows which are right above eyes, but this is deffiently new.

I hope its not an infection, he's been in the reef for 2 months now, a lot has changed for him between new diet, eating seaweed all day, and being with other fish and inverts which he has left everything alone.

If it is an infection, i dont know what could of caused it

It *could* be a bacterial infection, but I don't know since I have never seen his eyes!

I usually see them with a blue tint and cloudiness in the eyes. Maybe it's a feature they develop as they get older?

i hope not! he's never been sick and always been such a hardy fish

i hope that's all it is, it does look like he has grown a bit because the blue coloring are in the exact same size and in the exact spot.

Puffers have a sort of glitter on all their lens but besides that it proubly is the start of a bacterial infection or he is starting to go blind. I had a puffer with one blind eye and his eye changed colors like this.

I hope not :( he's the reason why i got into saltwater, had him for 3 almost 4 years now :(

Could eating to much algae been the cause of this since its not really their diet, he eats at the seaweed clip pretty much all day.
