By filter bags do you mean a sock or something else? And what would all the dimensions of your fuge be?

So no room for the sock there and the fuge? The size of the fuge is alright. I would just get as much macro in there as i can. The sock is not nearly as necessary as the fuge. My sock gets light from my fuge and grows algae on the outside of it gumming it up. I am currently not running a sock on mine and am debating on if i ever will again on an ongoing basis.

Socks make for more maintenance. If you have a empty tank you can customize your baffles to fit your return pump and a skimmer all in one. [IMG]

I'm trying to keep the fuge after the skimmer but before the return pump. When I remove the socks what can I use to catch large particles, or do I not have to worry about it.
