Pronunciation of Aquarium Terms

They're just words. Everyone over the course of their life has learned lots of new words. I don't know why these are so complicated for some people , and I'm not referring to you or anyone in particular just speaking generally.

I use common names all the time but there are times when it's absolutely necessary to have the scientific name and if people don't know when it's appropriate to use a specific scientific name there are consequences that could put our pets at risk. Especially when posting on a forum where it takes 30 seconds to look up the scientific name, I don't think there's a good excuse for not using a scientific name when there is any potential for misunderstanding or misidentification.

Ultimately I think it all comes back to people researching their pets and knowing how to care for them. If you don't know what you have how can you possibly be responsible for being aware of how to care for it? You could read something about it, or overhear something and not even realize that other people are talking about good ways to care for your pet.
