Prepping salt water

    After mixing and heating, how long can you keep the salt water without a heater and powerhead?

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    If you put a cap on the container you can keep it for weeks on end. You want to keep the fresh water from evaporating so the containers needs a cap. Just mix it around again prior to use. If it has a odor to it do not use it.

    Depends on the brand. Some of the salts that mix with high levels of calcium and alkalinity often have the calcium settle out after a few hours. Instant ocean on the other hand doesn't ever seem to go bad lol

    Awesome. I use IO and it was mixed in my reef bucket, the lids on tight
