Powerhead Placement

    So i put in a powerhead for my 10 gallon and it has 250 gph. i cant really find a good place to place it; any suggestions? right now its on the right side of my tank; should i put it on the back side of the tank or right or left?

    Sides are better so it doesn't stir up the sand as much.

    well remember the tank's pretty small so i have it on a side and my maroon clownfish in near the top so the powerhead is giving him some trouble

    Put it on the sides..You kinda have to play with them so there are no dead spots.

    so lets say i get a firefish; wont the powerhead just blow him away?

    No, it wont. mine stays in the powerheads main flow point the entire day and he is fine.

    alright. i plan on getting some coral in a few months so i dont want the powerhead's flow to be too much. right now the powerhead is on the left side and the flow is aimed towards the front of the tank. should i just let the flow go to the other side, leave it, or position it so it hits the back of the tank?

    Yes, very true. I almost doubled the flow in my 70 gallon and they went from frightened to fun in about 24 hrs. Give them some time and don't be tempted to shut it off. They need to get use to it!
