i was shopping online last night and didn"t think something through. i bought a Koralila 4 when i should have bought 2 2's. has anyone used a 4 in a 55 gallon tank??? i am thinking (and found some old posts) it is way to much flow from one pump (1200 gph). what about placing the PH in the middle of the back glass facing the front glass???

    any thoughts would be appreciated

What type of corals are you aiming to keep?

ha, man thats a good question. you would think i would know the answer considering how much time/money i have invested over the last couple months into making my tank "reef" friendly.

i am thinking mostly soft /LPS. Maybe some SPS, but not sure yet. which i am guessing does not really match up with a PH that strong, i am thinking that the SPS would probably be the only coral to "like" that kind of direct flow. i may have the wrong, let me know if i do.

Hmm, that will be a bit excessive, but my softies are happy under a 1600gph pump in my 30 gallon. I think if you do like you said and get it pointed at some glass it should diffuse it enough. I'm sure there is a way to make it work you will just need to play with it a bit.

well that makes me feel a little better. would i be better off paying the return shipping, plus another 20 bucks or so for #2's.

how close were your soft corals, cause that was what i was worried about the most. although i guess i could always put them at the other end of the tank.

The two K2's would definitely give you broader more chaotic flow. I have a few softies that are in the direct path of my pump.

I use a 4 in my tank. It is a 55g tank. I use it going across the back to keep the water moving and detritus from settling. Funny thing is I have more problem with detritus in the front now than he back. It took some time to get it to where it wasnt creating a huge sandstorm behind everything but now that I got it set it works great. I do admit though it is a little too much I should have gone with 2 2's.
