Not so happy.. Favorite fish so far, I am trying to find the culprit behind this because my husbandry has been excellent, he had been eating, and there are no other fish in the tank. Its weird, and I just wanted to rant.. GRRR.. I want another..

If I had to guess I would say it suffocated to death. Your 30 gallon tank doesn't have enough surface area to provide the oxygen that the smallest of all tangs need. I'm sorry for saying it but it's true. This is why I think tangs are left in larger tanks.

    bro, I 100 percent understand and that's a noble deal but I wouldn't
put another in there cuz it's going to have the same fate 8 times outta 10. People just don't understand how much oxygen tangs need. Especially powder browns and blues. They need a ton of water flowing over their gills and plenty of surface area. They get this by swimming distance (hence need for longer tank) and having a bigger tank for the surface area

I didnt know that a fish could suffocate from a small tank. even though it was a juvinile, and having a sump system I would thing there would be enough oxygenation to keep him breathing. Well, I still took him out of a 10 gallon tank, so I dont feel bad about giving the fighting chance
