So I got a powder blue a few days ago and since he has been in the tank he has been doing the exact same thing. He dashes to one end of the tank then swims back, repeatedly swooping down sideways and brushing the sand. He literally hasn't stopped since I got him. He has been eating nori sometimes and appears healthy. Tank specs and tank mates are in my sig. Tank is a six footer btw

How big is your tank and how big is the fish? Mine does that sometimes just to get oxygen and get poop out. Wait, wait...6 foot. Ok, so he is not trying to get oxygen if the tank is 6 feet long. Does he indicate any white spots on his side that are fairly new? Could be ich if he is scratching.

Ive got a Bubble Mag NAC6 that i am sure is putting enough oxygen in the water, and with 100 gallons and only 4 fish, 2 of which are tiny, i doubt there is a lack of oxygen, i am just worried because i dropped a bit of $$$ on this guy

Are you seeing any white spots indicating ich? are you feeding him anything other than nori? is he eating it?

There are no signs of ich. PBTs are primarily nori eaters so that is all I have been feeding him along with some spirulina. Same diet as at the store.

you might just need to give him a few days. i went through something similar but now he is just as calm and relaxed as ever. mine has a pattern that he swims in from time to time and can get very fast but usually quits within a few minutes. i think its his way of exercising lol. i think he his probably ok. they like to show their domanence too maybe hes trying to tell the other fish that he is in charge. i would give him a few days jmo. good luck
