    I have always believed that if you need to plan your work and then work your plan. This is my maintenance schedule for my aquarium. What's yours look like?


    Daily:
    o Feed
    o Wipe glass
    o Inspect inhabitants
    o Inspect skimmer cup, clean at half full

    Weekly: (Every Sunday)
    o Refill auto W/C water
    o Blow excess detritus off rock structure
    o Inspect all equipment for proper operation

    Biweekly: (10 days… check every few days)
    o Clean Algae Scrubber
    o Test water for Cal/Alk/Mag, adjust as necessary

    Monthly: (1st Sunday of month)
    o Do 20% W/C and clean sump
    o Empty and refill GFO / GAC
    o Check bottles for dosing: refill if necessary
    o Check CaRx equipment

    Quarterly: (1st Sunday in July, October, January and April)
    o Replace bulbs in Algae Scrubber
    o Clean all pumps
    • Skimmer
    • Return
    • Vortech wet sides

    6-9 Months:
    o Fully service CaRx system

    Annually: (1st Sunday in July)
    o Replace UV bulb
    o Replace any T5 bulbs
    o Replace test kits
    o Replace Probes:
    • 2x PH
    • 1x conductivity
    • 1x temp

    • Daily:
    o Feed
    o Wipe glass

    o Inspect sump / skimmer

    • Weekly: (Saturday)
    o Blow excess detritus off rock structure


    • Biweekly:
    o Test water parameters
    o Do a 10% water change (might do a bigger one, havent decided yet)

    • Monthly:
    o At this time I cant think of anything I will do monthly.
    o change carbon / gfo if im using them (currently not)

    • Quarterly:
    o Clean all pumps
    • Skimmer
    • Return
    • Vortech wet side

    o Feed
    o Top off tank (2 cups)
    o Inspect inhabitants

    Weekly (Saturday)

    o Clean glass cover
    o Inspect equipment

    Monthly (every 4th Saturday)

    o Test water
    o Wipe front glass
    o Vacuum 1/3 of substrate
    o 10% water change
    o Change carbon

    Yearly

    o Change T5HO bulbs

    Daily
    o Dose vodka
    o Check auto doser
    o Clean skimmer (more like every 2 days)
    o Refill ATO buckets
    o Observe
    o Deal with heaters as needed (Controller isnt hooked up all the way yet so they need to be turned on/off manually)
    o Turn fans on off as needed
    o Clean glass
    Weekly

    o 10 gallon water change for the 30 gallon system
    o Test Alk, Cal, Mag, in all tanks
    o Spot feed corals (2 a week)

    Biweekly
    o 50 Gallon waterchange
    o Make 100 gallons of saltwater (If needed)

    Monthly
    o Adjust auto doser
    o Dip corals in frag system as needed (in bayer or CoralRX)
    o Change out halide bulbs if needed
    o Clean pumps and powerheads

    There isnt really anything that I can say I have done yearly yet because none of my current systems have been up for a year yet. lol I stay on top of equipment maintenance as best as I can.

    Hmm. I know Im missing some things, but thats what Im coming up with for now.
