hahahahaha yes totally angle for the shimmer effect.

im not sure what your tank looks like or what the 'space' arrangement is, but if you have the height why not just put a tall canopy on the tank to hide them?

its a hex so it would be pretty hard to make a canopy plus they prob wouldnt want me too (I tryed to make a screen top and they freaked out and said sometimes good is the enemy of better, its kinda pissing me off though considering its my tank and i paid for it lol, but it is in their living room) and I live in Ga and dont have a chiller and it get pretty hot here in the summer

I have a couple pendants handing over my open top 200g tank, but mine is simply utilitarian at this point. A door will cover the front, and I will have the whole lighting system on a rail so I can slide it forward or back for tank maintenance. I need to start thinking about how to implement my idea. Being an in wall tank, I don't care too much how it looks from the back side. For a non in wall tank, I prefer the canopy style setups.

    http://www.3reef.com/forums/i-made/my-tek-light-installation-80875.html

here is one i recently completed for my TekLight - My dad and nephew actually did the install part.

I wanted something that looked really nice and polished too.
I have gotten a lot of compliments on it since it has been installed.

Best of luck to you.....the suspension install can be done VERY tastefully and can actually make the tank look more integrated with the wall and serve in a decorative manner as well. Just think it out and choose nice materials.

I am a designer for a living....we like to babble on about this sort of thing...the whole "form follows function" theory - you are welcome to tell the folks that you consulted a designer who definitely endorses a suspension install!

Let us know how it goes!

    ;)
