possible xenia filter

    Are you talking about xenia coral (waving hand, etc.)?

    i read an article about using xenia for a filter vs algae and algae won by a land slide in their experiment.sponge may work better so long as it does'nt die

    I will also have the algae in a seperate fuge.just going to have too much flow for the current setup after adding new pump and I think xenia can handle the flow. plus its free beings its growing like weeds in the DT. I could also use that area as a frag tank beings I will have to have decent lighting on it anyway.

    After putting all the plumbing together for the new pump, I think I'm going to scrap the xenia filter idea. It's just way to much flow for the sump. it sounds like Niagra Falls in my fish room. It would defenitly help to oxigenate my water though.
