What kind of lighting do you have, what is creating flow, how big is the tank, and what are the water params?

I'm not sure what you mean by 14 gal powerhead. Do you mean it only pushes out 14 gal/hour? How high was the calcium level? Are there any fish or inverts that have been visibly bothering the coral?

I had an high alk swing one time that wiped out my GSPs. It also killed my hammers. But all of my other corals lived including some harder to keep SPS. Where is your alk at?

brush it with a soft toothbrush and then give it some hardy flow. If it can't open (often due to some gunk the clean-up crew left on it) it can't eat. If it doesn't eat, it'll starve itself to death.

Hard to tell by pic, but looks like poor flow causing fungal/bacterial growth. GSP like moderate to high flow. Also do a FW dip.
