hey guys i bought a bleached BTA from the LFS because they had so crappy lights i wanted to save it, but i only have a 10 gallons im doing waterchanges, checking my params, feeding it 2-3 times a week, my lighting is 2-24watt t5HO bulbs and im gunna buy some suppliment lights from reefbriteLED which are 24" 3watt per LED. that comes with 12 leds. im thinking that should be enough light to recover the zoa from the nem. ? im having a little aglea outbreak im getting my CUC tmrow so that will clear things up. i have a aquaclear30 Powerhead, aquac 50 filter running only chemipure elite and sponge, aquac 20 for cheatos, im upgrading my skimmer to a aquaticlife mini 115 soon, 10 pounds LR and 5pounds LS, i have CHEATOS in my filter and display, ATM im acclimating my BTA to a 24wattpc light + 2-24watt t5HO 24" lights as when i get my LEDS i will replace it with my pc lights. I've read many post's here even read Karens website amillion times.

i had my BTA for over 2 weeks now and its foot is under a rock and the sand. as they like stick near the crevise of those kind of stuff. it hasnt moved anywhere but i blocked off my filters with sponges etc. my LFS thought it would be nice to have in his tank. but he had bad lightning, overstocked fishes, and some dead fishes as well. as you can tell i am no longer returning this BTA due to bad enviroment and it will do better in my tank as i can care for more.

im trying to recover his zoa as you can see. its been in his store for 3 weeks and i couldnt let the poor guy die so i just bought him. as i stated im feeding him 2-3 a week with silversides he takes the food and eats it asap, his foot is brown. I'm doing my best but i know i cant do it alone. will anyone help my nem in survival? he is alittle green but is slowing loosing his color..

    It does look very bleached.

As long as it remains footed, inflating daily, eating and not gaping you have a good shot at it. Just provide the best water quality you can.

Be careful and do not feed it too much and too often, the digestion is not fast enough to be feed multiple times a weeks, the food if not digested quickly enough can cause a bacterial infection that quickly leads to death.

They will regain their zooxanthellae quicker if another un-bleach BTA is present but that does not seem prudent at this time. It make take many weeks to regain it's coloration, but that's ok.

That fact that is fully inflated in the images and not moving around the tank bodes well for it currently.

Just keep doing what your doing.
