Well i finally plumbed my pump (Mag Drive 9.5), needless to say its not working out how i had hoped... on paper i should have enough flow to keep up with the drain, but for some reason i dont. ive decided im just going to re-plumb it all tom., this time keeping the return on the left side of the tank instead of running it across the stand to the right side of the tank. My question is, on the parts list and specifications sheet that came with the pump it says 1 1/2" diameter is the minimum hose size that should be used for maximum flow. This doesnt exactly sound right since the return side of the pump is 3/4" threaded male. Should i in fact increase the size of the return pipe to 1 1/2" or just keep it as 3/4". what has everyone else done? im using hardpipe from the pump to the two 1/2" locline returns. Also, by making a more direct route to the returns will this help keep everything even? i expected the pump to return more water then it would drain, not the other way around but i guess my plumbing job is restricting the flow a real lot... ugh , im so flustered right now...:-/ and in need of any advice or anything i have overlooked...

Keep it 3/4" all the way out. That is why you are loosing so much flow is the water volume in 1.5" pipe is hard for a Mag 9 to push.

Well currently its not 1 1/2", but on the sheet that came with it it says to keep the inside diameter 1 1/2". right now its 3/4" but it cant keep up with the drain...so i guess instead of running the return from the left side of the sump to the right side of the DT, keeping everything on the left side (reducing the amount of 90s, 45s, and overall travel length will solve my issue?
