with IO it states that 1/2 cup salt to 1 gallon water, hopes this helps, you can try this and take sg readings and see how close it is?

According to the write up I found on Google
Crystal sea salt mix 20kg bucket makes 150 gallons of salt water

so add just under 1/4 of the bucket tonight and then test tomorrow evening

i only ran my skimmer after the cycle was done, you can run your filters right away they will help mix the salt as long as you dont have any live sand in your sump.

+1 on not needing the skimmer yet
yes you can add the salt to cold water and heat up
it takes a bit longer to dissolve the colder the water is, but it will dissolve as the tank warms up

I have never gone by the recipe on the salt mix. I pour my fresh RO/DI water in a five gal. bucket and add salt, mix thoroughly, then use a refractometer to see the SG. I only add a couple of cups of salt at first, this usually gives me .015 SG so I add another cup then a little more and check after each time etc.
