    Remember that wood will compress a little bit so in time those gaps will go away if it's as small of a gap as you say. Good to go!!!

    True,not to mention that the stands are always flexing,expanding and contracting with the humidity in the house as well.I would bet it's safe to say everyone has a minute gap from time to time.

    I agree with the fact that its prob not a big deal , that being said however I opted to put a piece of rubber mat between my stand and tank. I did this partly to correct any imperfections 1/100th or not, but also to limit vibrations to the tank due to traffic or various other contributors

    This is a very good idea. I almost did something similar but after hearing from all the GREAT guys/gals on here I proceeded to fill the tank and didn't go track down a so called "cushion mat".
