Please help me make a 10 gal refigum/sump

I have a 20 gallon reef and would like to use a 10 gal tank i have to make a refigum/sump. I don't know much about how they work all i know is that the water is pumped from the tank, throung the refigum, and back into the tank. What do you put in the rufigum/sump? Any design ideas you have would be very helpful too. Thank you!

 

there is alot of information in the DIY threads, and all over this forum. try doing a search in on the forum "Refugium explained" or "How does a sump/fuge work"

here is a DIY of a sump and fuge being made, you can read up on what they did, and take a look at pictures of the set up. it will give you an idea of how to go about this project, or if you are even willing to tackle it yet.
