    I just got a plate coral on wedensday of last week and it has been doing great until today or i think it has, today when i got home from work it had its mouth open and some little tanish string things were coming out along with a little puff of tanish stuff. This is the first plate coral i have ever had so i don't know if this is normal or not. Please let me know what you think thank you

    I understand that this may be normal as a way of expelling waste.

    Sounds to me like it is expelling its zooxanthellae algae.

    It was pooping!! They usually retract quit a bit before doing so. Then they'll get all puffy again. It's what mine does anyways :)
