I have a pink rimmed Plate Coral and my substrate is Crushed Coral. It say's it need's to be on a sandbed or the rock's can damage the underside of the Plate and could lead to death. Has anyone ever kept one alive on a C.C. Sub. Is there anything I could put on the bottom and set him on? He has been in the tank for a few week's and is very much alive. He just closed his mouth again. I have yet to see any tentacles, so could the C.C. be th eproblem?

Try and get something under it to raise it a little off the crushed coral. I used egg crate but you could use a flat piece of live / base rock or something similar.

take the bottom of a butter tub and cut it so it's only a quarter of an inch tall. Get some sand from a fellow reefer and put the fungia and sand in there

i always thought that damage on the underbelly of a fungia are caused by unforgiving rock or substrate.meaning rock that will not move when the fungia decides to get motile.

i dont feel your substrate will damage the fungia. but im no expert on fungia. so better be safe than sorry. take inwall's advice
