So the Montana winter is a dry cruel place for aquariums and I finally realized maybe I need an ATO system. I would like to build one and figured with all the knowledge here someone might have blueprints to build one. I have a home depot here so getting parts will not be a problem. Thank you!

NorCal Guy and NASA Geek both have gravity fed ATOs. They both use a 5g bucket, a solenoid valve, and a Kent float switch. I haven't built mine yet, but have been meaning to do so.

I would like plans/parts as well, don't have the room for a gravity feed though, gonna need a pump for mine! And more than 5 gallons! a 250 tank needs almost 5 gallons a day here in AZ!

I agree here. I'm all for DIY, by the time you total up the DIY cost, you may as well order one online.
