    -=My Current Tank=-

Well I own 29 biocube, and I just wanted plan out everything for the next year...

    -=My Budget=-

So around next year I will have around $1.6k budget for just the
    "Reef Tank"
I have my eye fixed on 66 gallon red sea max 250, for $1.4k with a stand.

    -=My Ideal Fish Tank=-
    1. Tank must have top hood or wood fixture, I dont like the tank that just has the lighting part sticking out...like you know... when you add MH lighting for biocube, and it becomes hoodless? and just has the lighting fixture sticking out, and im not a big fan of that.

    2. Must be +60 gallons

    3. Either T5 or MH, but I like MH and red sea max dont have MH =/

    4. I would like rectangle shape..but not at thin rectangle..but fat rectangle like red sea max 250? So..long length tank. But not a cube, ya I am a picky type..sorry.. ::)

    -=Questions=-
Would it be cheaper if i just built my own, or just buy all in one system?
And if building is cheaper, will i save alot of money?

And yes its a new tank im looking for, unless if there is really good craiglist reef tank deal during the time when i Upgrade my tank.

Yes it would be cheaper to build yourself and being the "picky type" you could build it the way you like it...lol.Nothing wrong with a good used tank if you can find one,you will save money there also.

What's your budget after the tank purchase? Lights, sand, rock, etc. will cost you as much(or more) than the tank and stand. My suggestion would be to keep a close eye on craigslist. There are always people getting out of the hobby and willing to make a deal.

I just got my 135 Oceanic off craigslist w/ t5 lights, Oceanic stand and over 200 lbs of LR for a grand. Since then I've had to put close to another grand into it just getting it set up the way I wanted. There's certainly nothing wrong with a used tank as long as you check it out thoroughly and tank good care in moving it...

Good luck and let us know how it goes!
