So I got this probe on Wed and noticed it was leaking outside the cap. Is this normal or should I request a replacement?

    +1 ^ to above

thats just a protective plastic cover that holds the liquid to keep the probe tip wet, until you set it up. it looks like there is still fluid in there. so it should be fine

    Thanks guys!

Iv been reading that almost everyone has issues with ph probes.. I wanted to make sure it was going to work before I go nuts.

    Have a great Easter.

I got the same pH probe with my ApexLite as well and I just started to calibrate the pH on regular basis. Like, weekly.

So should I buy a different ph probe? I'd rather have something that doesn't need to be calibrated every week.

You gonna need two kinds of calibration solution:

I got mine off eBay. $15 shipped for both I think? You have to calibrate it on initial use.
