Matt, they are STRONG!! I have them dialed way back. today was its first day here. and aside from saturday and sunday, the only other days ive had where I can even observe it. the light has its... um....good things and bad. If I adjust the lighting during the timed cycle, it breaks the timed cycle and wont turn off. so, you have to flip the switch which resets it and all of your dimmed setting again. so, then you will get the blues and white set and hit the timer button. this locks in your dim settings for the cycle.

as of now, it comes on at 7:30 (cause thats when I got the light plugged in).

7:30 - First set of 4 blues on (inner)
    9:30 - 2nd set of 4 blues on (outer)
10:30 - first set of 6 whites on (inner)
11:30 - 2nd set of whites on (outer)
3:30 - 2nd set of whites off (outer)
4:30 - first set of 6 whites off (inner)
    5:30 - 2nd set of 4 blues off (outer)
7:30 - First set of 4 blues off (inner)

The sunset is all merely speculation as it is not time yet, and I have yet to even watch it a full day. FUNNY, now as I type this post, out power went out. I have it on a battery backup so YAY!!!

    Edit:

one thing I have noticed that I think is really cool is the way it dims the LEDS. when they are dimmed, it looks like the propeller on my Koralia runs slower than normal. really cool to see.

I am glad you like the light and are figuring it all out - you know I think need a bigger thank but that is cool you can dial it down - hey that should make it last longer too. :)
    Looks really cool!

Grim, yes. I've needed and wanted one for a long time.

Matt I did some reading and I think this light is timed for 15 hours daily. So I need to add 3 hours to the middle of full light. It was a revision I believe they did because it used to just be 4 hours full light.

Yeah I'm tagging along PUM. Love the idea of a small reef at work, but curious to see how you like it after having it for a few months.

Tank is just churning along. I did a 50% water change with water from my 180. Evaporation is about 8 oz daily. I will be ordering an ATO kit from BRS here very soon. for now, it is just pour a cup a day when I get to or leave the office.

I also have now a total of 3 blue leg hermits, a few dwarf cerinth, 1 large cerinth and a nassarius snail in the tank. Also added a Coral Banded shrimp.

lastly, I know I went against the advice of some folks here but I added a Black ice clown. small guy about 1 1/2 inches. Looks good in the tank so far. we will take it week by week on this little guy. eveyone at my office seems to like him though. im glad it eats pellets as well.

And yes.. I also added two heads of frogspawn. they wer eon my sandbed at home and it was a 4 headed monster. a friend needed one head, so I split it and brought 1/2 to work. im glad I did too. i like the movement.

Ugh..I wish the Dos Pescados tank looked as good now as it did when the photo in the previous post was taken. YUCK. it is covered in a green slimey algae that looks like Cyano, but is more green. ICKY stringy gross. How it got that way I do not know. I tested Friday of last week and the nitrates were about 20 and phosphate was .04. I had done a 50 % water change the week before. I am running the Aquaclear 20 with Chemipure elite and Purigen in it along with the filter sponge. I feed the fish maybe 5-8 pellets daily when I am here during the week. top off of a 8oz daily.

YUCK. I killed the lights today. it will be dark in my office for a good 16 hours. Then ill do a LARGE water change tomorrow morning. somewhere around 3-4 gallons with saltwater ill make up tonight. ill be sure to blow the heck out of the rock and everywhere before I siphon it out. then I have to go out of town for 2 days. If it still looks Narsty Friday, I think I may take the higher dollar corals and the fish to the house. Ill keep the shrimp, 2 hermit crabs and a few dwarf cerinths in here and we will give it a while before i add anything back to it.

also noticed this fish likes to bite my ring if i have my hand in the tank. that kind of aggression leads me to believe she would not do well in my 180 with the other pair of clowns I have.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Yeah the clown would probably not work.
Do you thing it's conceivable that tank is just going through a normal algae bloom and the black out along with time it will cycle through it?
