We also did some changes in the fish room this last month. We pulled up all the carpet:

And put down hardwood to match the living room and entryway.

Good move on the flooring around the aquarium

I have mine on wooden flooring now, I had them on carpet in previous residences
and I know which of the 2 I would prefer when the inevitable water spill occurs
( or maybe I am just a very clumsy water changer?)

we just did the wood around the tank and then I added a 1x6 at the bottom that looks like the top of the stand then the quarter-round. Looks like it is finished! The stand is set on a 1" foam mat which is on the carpet and pad.

That floor job looks great. It even looks like you moved the tank and they did the whole floor.

Ugh.. so what a trip its been lately. I dont have a FTS to show anyone. we have been so stinking busy and I have been so stinking unhappy with the tank, that it has just sorta churned. The nitrates got WAY out of whack. forgot to add more pellets..oops. So now to offer a Semi update.

I think the Flatworms are gone. i have not seen any evidence of them in weeks. No bite marks, nothing. I monitor closely with a flashlight at night. For those from my local club following, I have been helping out some friends who are moving liquidate their tank. From this, we are how home to 6 new fish! a Trio of Blue Reef Chromis (Huey, Dewey and Louie), a Mandarin Goby (Wonton), a Blue Hippo tang (Dori), and a Powder Brown tang (Pablo). The Previous owners named them. all fish are doing WONDERFULLY and eating well. Thanks to the Vanity of my Atlantic blue tang and his love of the mirror, there has been more peace in the tank than the Korean peninsula (I know.. easy...). Mirror should go back into storage tonight. I also got ot upgrade my skimmer to a SRO Xp3000I ! WOW> finally no more constant tinkering with the MRC. While it was a good skimmer and definatley sucked out the funk, it was constantly clogging with stomatella shells and was just becoming a pain.

Ill try to get some photos here soon.

Oh yea, we think the yellowtail Pygmy is either in an overflow or died. we have not recovered a body...
