yea, I think it may have to do with the fact that I removed the sohal so he is now top tang (naso dont count). It was very neat to watch him and I wish I had some of the green photos.

    Upgrades

So, I scored a SWEEEET deal on some LED's. they were a single unit with 106 lamps. I seperated them into a pair of fixtures and will be adding in another dozen LED's to the rack on the right.

I also added plexi shields to keep them from getting splashed while in my hood since they will be about 8" from the water surface. one other cool thing are the horizontal bars you see. they are flush drawer sliders that will allow me to slide them out past the front edge for easy cleaning and maintenance without taking off the hood or reaching inside. they can extend beyond the front and even pull completely out if I need to do some soldering or what not.

So, I will be yanking out the three luminarc fixtures and the Ice Cap ballasts this friday and loading these into the tank! YAY!

Yes, I did it. Finally.....they are not 100% complete yet. the light controller I got was faulty so they are not 100% bright yet. I will wait to get tank shots until the new one gets here monday.

when I bought the kit, it was a single piece with 106 LED's. I added another 24 to it, so the total is 130. I split them into two pieces so I could mount them more easily and put them on slides for easy cleaning.

just after cutting them apart and getting the splash guards in place

Halides removed and the lights are in. I left the Actinics in just in case I didnt like the color or felt it didnt have enough light.

Yes, they can fully extend from the hood and can also be removed entirely bu pulling them out
