yea.. still a LARGE learning curve with this tank. I so Miss my old 75 right about now... that thing was foolproof... slowly but surely I am getting this one. I need to post another growth shot of a few corals.. they are amazing...Funny how some corals will grow like MAD and others will recede...

Changes in the environment will cause the coral differences. You could have several different tanks with a frag of a coral from a mother colony and it will look and grow different in each tank even if you are using all on the same rock, equipment and water, have the same animals and keep your parameters the same.

Very nice thread, just spent about 2 hours (nothing to do at work) going through it all. I really wish I had a big tank so I could get a few of the bigger tangs, they're absolutely gorgeous. As for the coral, oddly I think I love the zoa takeover the most, the color and look of the spread is excellent.

thanks for the compliments. those tangs are great fish. the sohal can be a pest though. always biting me when I am working in the tank. they have been a labor of love.

    Nice growth on the Tinkerbell.

You will want to be careful will the zoas near your acro; they will over grow the acro pretty easily.

2in10, I peeled them back a little over 2" last night. got two 15-20 polyp frags out of them. in their place is some epoxy putty for them to grow on and then be removed again in a few months. sort of a "demilitarized zone."
