Red, did you see the Sohal? hard to miss a 10" stripedy fish that is constantly begging for food. LOL.

im afraid we will lose the Purple in the coming weeks. he has been swimming very strangely as if he wants to sink tail first. while still eating well, a once very very fat fish is now looking very skinny. not 100% sure of his issue, but I am thinking it is swim bladder related and the excess swimming to stay upright has used his fat reserves. makes me somewhat sad, but I may try and replace him with a gold rim or something similar to that. may even try to buy back my old purple.. being this one was a MEAN sob, it will open some doors. * fingers crossed, I may be getting a pair of butterflies....

as for the rest, corals are doing well and I have more coming. we did have a minor setback the week before last. our power was out for about 25 hours and I had no water movement for 15 of them. ended up losing some corals and had to completely wash and start over on my Ecobak pellets. the purple was found laying on his side when the battery pack arrived (we were 1000 miles away). Silver lining though.... I was able to score a generator for a great deal and now have a 5500 watt unit on standby in the garage. it will run for 12 hours on a tank of fuel and has enough juice to power the entire tank plus the fridge, deep freeze and tv's.

ill try and get some new photos sometime soon. just beeen way tooooo busy.

Hate to hear that about the purple tang. Awesome pics though!

I hear ya on the generator. I am leaving in the morning for 6 days, and my power went out tonight for about an hour. It was right when the pet sitter was coming by, so I could show her a few things to watch on the tanks. I ended up driving an hour round trip in the rain to load up a generator from work. Now I will be able to sleep while im on vacation. And btw, Jay (Smyrnareefer) came over to help me unload it. Are you coming to the meeting at the critter this month?

well, the purple tang passed today. he had been really sick and just sorta wasted away. no clue what was wrong with him, but he has now passed. Sad day for us all, but now, I plan to replace him with a powder Blue hopefully. it may be a few months but we will see...
