It is a dry heat, yeah right !
WOW that is quite the hall. Very cool, you have some nice frags there. Judging by the pictures the swap looks like it was a huge success.

well, it has been a while since I updated this. Here is what we have going on.

    1. burnt tips on the acro's
    2. I dont have a single SPS that looks good. they are either burnt tips or no poylp extension.
    3. HA is very prevalent in the tank as of now but we are working to correct the issue.

I have had to stop the GFO becuase I believe I have stripped it too hard causing the burnt tips. as of last test, it was 11 parts per billion via hanna checker. that is .01ppm and it shoudl be .03ppm or so.

we have decided to dose API AlgaeFix Marine. I ahve done a bunch of reading and adter about a few doses of this, we will see the algae go away. then i can strip the released phosphate out of the tank and we can be free of that nuisance.

all fish are doing very good. fat and happy.

How are you planning to remove the excess phosphates? reactor? fuge? Just curious, I know it's hard to sometimes get phosphates under control once you have a problem.

the plan for their removal is to run GFO and to utilize the pellets. I will likely put hte GFO on a timer to run once a day for a bit or every other day. not 100% sure yet. I may half the dosage of it and then let it run fully.

Sounds like a plan. I run a reactor full time after having my bout with excess phosphates...

UPDATE!?!?! we are on the third dose of the Algaefix. it is working as the HA is browning or just becoming less green and it will blow off the rock with the turkey baster very easily. I can blow off a section of the tank and the filtersocks just fill up. tomorrow we will completely clean the back wall and the overflows. the tank already looks incredible. I am not testing any Phosphate with the Salifert kit, but hopefully next weekend I can borrow a friends hanna meter to test it a bit.

So as many know, I have been behind on what seems like EVERYTHING on my tank. it has been a terrible battle and just after the swap, I was about to sell the entire setup and rip it out. I was so MAD!!!!!! My tank had become overrun with Hair Algae and was so UGLY, I didnt want to look at it. the ONLY thing that kept me into it was the fish, and barely.

well I stepped out on a limb and bought some Algae fix. I had overstripped the phosphate with the GFO so I knew this could be the last ditch effort.

well, what do you know, I can look at my tank and see potential again. Here are some photos

This is what Bart called the Tinkerbell. as of today, it is the only SPS that is growing, and it is doing so DAILY.
