actually, it is a pink spot watchman goby (I think) from what all I could tell. had him since I got the tank as he came with it so I cannot tell you how old he is. he is a very protective turd and will go after the purple tang if he gets too close to his rock pile. I hope he is not like that with any one else when i add them. i dont look forward to trying to evict him. he is a good 5" long and a pig. if the tangs are messy and drop their nori sheet, he will steal it and run to his cave.

It seems the gobies r either mean or getting picked on. My diamond watchman gets run back into his cave by my purple everytime he sees him

mine is fearless bro.. hates teh pruple tang most of all for some reason. will actually swim out and threaten the big fish who ignores him for the most part.

got some new pretties from a friend. he is a bit overstocked so he passed these on to me.
2 acro's. one is a rich purple I think and the other reminds me of a pearlberry but its not that.
1 frag from a fragging event for out local club. I dont remember what it is actually. it had falled and was lost beind rockwork in his tank. he found it and it is very bleached out white. you can see white polyps on it,so im hoping it makes a return.
    some brancing pocillipora.
mroe candy coral. this time it is almost on the bottom of the tank and looks MUCH better so far. we are getting great inflation since the sun came up today andeven beter when the tank lights came on. he has 400 wt MH's on his tank to my 250's and I still think I gave it too much light now.

on another note, the water is a bit better too. we got the alk down to 11 and teh CA down to 460, so we fired up the CA reactor and will maintain it at that. I have it on a pretty weak setting so it should do well. the PH is set to a 7.0 midpoint with a .1 swing for turning on and off the CO2. I have jsut barely under a steady stream as far as rate of flow.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Can you please elaborate regarding the setting on the Ca reactor, and the setting of 7.0.

I need some education with regard to the point setting.

    TIA

    Coralline,

that set point is for the PH controller on my Ca reactor. I use a pinpoint controller for it. the lower the PH the faster the media will dissolve and the more potent your effluent will be. also, the slower the water flows thru the reactor the more potent it will become so you have to find a ballance on it. most run theirs at just below a steady stream and then utilize the PH to determinet he strenght. if you let your PH get too low in the reactor, the media will turn to MUSH and you will have to break it down.

Poolkeeper on here is a wizard about these and there are tons of articles on them. reefkeeping mag had some good ones. look in the show off your tanks forum for Bill's build thread (just updated it a night or two ago) and hit him up.

Remember. Small adjustments and wait a good while between them and test before making another change
