well, raised the salt up .002 last night. I poured some salt in a 5 gallon bucket (measured it my way) and then used the chiller discharge to fill the bucket and dissolve the salt. once it was all disolved, I putthe hose back in and just let it run till the water in the bucket was clear, then dumped the bucket back into the sump. it was a PERFECT .002 raise in the salinity. will do that again tonight and each night for the next week.

also, Petsolutions.com is having a salt sale. I picked up a 200 gal bucket of Oceanic shipped to the door for $55!!!!

Did you pour it or drip it into the sump?

half and half... I didnt fill the bucket then pour. I filled it with tank water so it was a very salty mix. then let it mix by itself for a bit while I stirred it. then I took the same hose that I used earlier from the chiller and stuck it in the bucket and just let it overflow for about 5 minutes. after that, I poured the bucket out in to the sump.

OK. so im out of salt till monday or Tuesday when teh 200 gallon bucket arrives. so, to keep busy, we did a little building. while my parents were in town, my dad built me a new workbench in the garage. it is 8'x32" and is PERFECT. there was a sheet of plywood 16"x8' that needed to be used. so, I extended the workbench across the top of the sump to put all of my equipment and goodies on. I REALLY like the way it came out. it is also sturdy enough to put a frag tank on when the time comes.

well, I did give up some of the Garage for it. I could have kicked the wife out and kept the boat in the garage or my truck and her car. Ill take this sacrifice and let her park in there and have this.

err... kicked her car out of the garage.. is actual statement for clarification (like she will read this). Now today, after 28 days in the shop, we get her van back.
