I picked up my first anemone tonight. It's a multicolor BTA I guess. The foot is pinkinsh, the oral disc and base of tentacles are green and the rest of the tantacles are red.
    Not the greatest shots.

I acclimated it and put it in the tank a few hours ago in a hole/crevice in one of the rocks hoping it would like it there cause it's foot was protcted and tentacles were out, also there was low/medium amount of flow there . Well it started to move after being in the tank for an hour. Moved down and went in the crack between two rocks and then disappeared completely behind and under the rock. My lights are out now for the day. I'm hoping it finds a new spot by morning.
If it's still under the rocks in the morning should I just let it go and hope that it comes back out from under the rocks? Or should I remove the top rocks and get it out where it can get some light.

6 months old is kind of iffy with an anemone IMO, usually a good idea to wait about a year or so unless you are experienced with them. Still great looking nem though!

ya, we'll see hopefully it works out. I was going to wait longer but found this awesome one for a nice price so I couldn't pass it up. All my water parameters are perfect, 0 Nitrates and plenty of light for a BTA.

I'm hoping he just went behind the rocks cause it's getting used t the new enviroment and cause the lights were out on the tank when I put it in there. If it's still under that rock in the morning I will flip the rock over.

Leave it alone. It is acclimating to the new system. If you flip the rock it will just move again. It is best to use the hands off approach unless it is no imminent danger. Just give it time, it will eventually pop out. Sometimes it will take a week or two, you can't force it. Just be patient, it is difficult but it you have to let it get accustomed to the new surroundings on it's own terms, moving it will only prolong this and stress it.
Beautiful bta though, I love that coloration. :)

My BTA just did the exact same thing..I set it in a hole in the LR and every time i looked at the tank he was inching close and closer to the bottom..and now he is in a crevice between two rocks only showing a couple of tentacles..It has only been in my tank for 2 days though so I'm just going to let him sit and hope he decides to come out!
