So I was wondering if anyone has used any phosphate removing products with success? The reason I'm asking is even though I do weekly water changes (10%) I still have algae growth and with me adding new dry rock im afraid of leaching phosphates. I wanna add corals and I don't want a huge algae invasion

I would look into a GFO reactor to help cut them back, but the source of the problem should be solved for long term success. Watch your feeding and are you using RO/DI.

GFO has worked well for me in the past. I've also used Chemipure Elite with success.

My current method is dosing vodka in my 29. It's shown some great results, if you don't mind darker skincare that smells AWFUL. It also has the added benefit of NO3 reduction.

I suppose auto-correct doesn't hear much about skimmate usually!! :)

    LOL.

I'm usually very particular about checking my spelling... Autocorrect can be such a PITA.

I've used rowaphos in a HOB filter before to lower phosphates on a 90gallon before as well.

As has been said though, RO/DI should be used and phosban used as a supplement.

Well I use RO/DI water but I just want to make sure I have a plan in case the new dry rock causes an outbreak

But what I'm hearing is chemipure is a good choice. That's in a bag right? I think I saw it once and it gave off a weird brown color when you run water through it
