Phils 180gallon reef ready tank....Take 2!

So as many of you know, i had a small (lol) set back.....Alot of things in life dont make sense but i believe everything happens for a reason! Well my hose was left on and my ato failed(yea)at the same time right!) so my sump was being filled with fresh water, i was out as i had some important stuff dealing with mother....so basically from when i left, i had a salt tank, wen i came home i had a fresh water!

so, i finnaly ordered everything i need to redo the tank and start fresh! i am now going to be just using my 75 gallon custom sump, and its going to be right under the tank! this way....no more stupid mishabs on my part!


not sure on how im gonna do the stack, but im thinking a casading moutain on the left side, space in the middle and a island on the right....


i love my corals, but im bigger on fish, so i want lots of open space as i plan on having a heavy fish load!


my skimmer im using is a octopus nw-250, the new return pump is going to be a mag 12 most likely!

so i cant wait to start this back up....losing all those corals sucked but hey stuff happens! My friend (dreamingmel on rc) is coming over on march 6 and thats when we will plum the entire tank, gonna do it right this time!


so wish me luck, ill post so pictures of the progress shortly, im gonna start messing with the stack and post pics of the stack and get your feed back, this way in two weeks ill have the perfect stack ...

2xtunze 6045
2xmj1200 modded to sureflo for 2100gphs
Octopus nw-250 skimmer
about 200-250pounds live rock

cheapo home depot sand(high desert play sand) love the look of this sand and 50 pounds if only 5 bucks! hmmm thats all i can think of for now!

Welcome back, since you had that misfortune happen and you have to start all over, is there something you plan on doing differently? Anyway, good luck with your new tank.

 

yup! taking out the 100 gallon fuge, moving my custom build sump upstairs and it will be under the tank. so it will be plumbed to under the tank no the basement to ensure that there are no more supid slip ups, every thing will be done by hand, i will never trust any thing auto ever again lol
