when using a ph buffer when does the treatment need to be added?

    after each water change??
    every week??

how long does it take for the ph to be right in the tank?

new set up tanks often experience parameter issues , IME
You dont need to be adding PH buffers or anything at all until the tank has been set up 3 months
water changes being the exception IMO and you can start doing these once your ammonia and Nitrites have spiked and gone to zero

in your tank at present, bearing in mind your other thread
you have a white protien based scum on water surface - so you need more water movement to break that up so your skimmer can pull it out

once that is gone - Oxygen will find its way into the water easier and CO2 will find its way out easier

thats when your PH will increase IMO
