I have a large and a small peppermint shrimp in my BC29HQI that hang out together and even share the same hideout (even thought they weren't introduced to the tank at the same time). I want to add one Blood/Fire shrimp because I love the way they look. I have done plenty of searching and have found mixed reviews on the compatibility of these two species. I understand that every shrimp's behavior is different and that I may be taking a risk. The question is, how much of a risk is this?

Edit: The Blood/Fire shrimp that I will be adding is bigger than both peppermints. My LFS has several but they are all on the larger side.

Probably near 0 risk, depending on how much rock you have. They're not really aggressive.

Just make sure they have enough room to have their own territories.

I think you'll be ok. There might be a small battle or two when you first introduce them but they'll work it out. I just added a Blood Red to my 46 BF that already had a peppy shrimp in there. Might be pushing it just cuz it's only a 28 gal. Let's see how others feel about this!

Should be fine. Shrimps aren't normaly outwardly aggressive. I keep a fire shrimp & cleaner and they pretty much just stay out of eachother's way. The cleaner usually jumps if they discover eachother but no real aggressive behavior.

I have a peppermint, cleaner, blood and a coral banded, and they all do fine in the RSM250 - probably with room for another shrimp if I were willing to push it.

I have 2 peppermint and a blood in a 60 gallon. They do great. The blood shrimp only comes out of his hole to eat and clean tangs. The peppermints just stay away from his hole. I have never seen any aggression whatsoever. The peppermints were even added well after the blood shrimp. I give it a green light

Awesome. Thanks everyone for your responses. I might go pick one up right after my water change today.
