I have a coral banded shrimp which I rarely see... it's not too big yet, still kinda young (2.5").

I have some aiptasia/ glass anemones and would like to get some peppermint shrimps to get rid of it... thinking about starting with 3-4 peps and see if they take care of the problem...

Do you think the coral banded will tolerate the addition of peppermint shrimp? Maybe they'd last long enough to get aiptasias under control?

i had a coral bandit and i had a aptasia prob. i put in 3 peps and they knocked out my aptasia in a week. but 2 weeks later i never saw them again. i blame the coral bandit but i never actually seen him messing with them. my coral bandit was aggresive towards everything though

I havent had any luck with keeping peppermint shrimp w/ my coral banded, they seem to hang around for a week and dissapear. I havent seen the coral banded kill them, I just assume. My skunk clean does however get along w/ my coral banded.

My peppermint steer clear of my coral banded. But with a 150 gal ,there is pleanty of places for the peppers to hide. I think they would last long enough to knock out ht aptasia issue.

OK, I'm getting 50-60 lbs of live rock from a guy who has a bunch of aiptasia... I already have about 70lbs in the tank, and I don't want to go through the process of re-curing the additional rock. I think I'll wait until the rock is in the tank, then get a few peppermints to clear it off. If they become food for the coral banded, then so be it.

you should just set up a make shift tank with the rock and put some peps in there with the rock. i wouldnt add that to your tank unless it was already gone imo.

that's a good idea, though I have a couple aiptasia already in my tank as well... but that is good thinking... I will consider it.
