It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Most crabs are nocturnal so you may not see a lot of them, hermit crabs would be an exception.

I have never had an issue with true Emerald Crabs, but you rarely see them if their regular hang out spot is deep in the rock work.

Arrow crabs are very active and very different and cool looking but they grow large quickly and will steal food from LPS.

My peppermint shrimp were so fast I doubt a crab could have caught one to kill it.

    Porcelain Crabs, maybe?

I think they look cool and they don't get very big and a few together are suppose to be socialish.

They also have more info here at liveaquaria also if you want to read it.

Porcelain crabs are filter feeders and as far as I know not agressive, but they arent the most active of crabs either. I had 2 when I first started & they were pretty cool, unfortunately my hawkfish thought they were cool too.

I loved my 2 emerald crabs! As they got bigger, they'd come out a ton more! i 'trained" mine a bit lol! i could put a piece of crab pellet in between my fingers and put it near where he was, he would fly out and pinch my thumb with one claw, while eating with the other! I would then do my other tank stuff while he just hung on! The bigger he got though it got to hurt a bit, but only if ya jerked him a bit! My coral banded shrimp killed him though, have video of the beatdown below this! Was super sad, but when tearing the tank apart to catch the CBS and a damsel, found 3 babies, that are still going strong! They help with hair algae too!

my emerald crabs are one of the major things i wish i could get rid of. I have 3 and they all cause havoc by pushing things over and pinching my corals. Ive considered sending them down the porcelain porthole but the gf wont let me.

Like Corailline said, Porcelain crabs are nice filter feeders, as well as anemone crabs. Both are shy at first, but they come out a bit with time.
