par bulb setup for 55 gallon

    Anyone have feedback on the best priced par bulbs out there? And how many I need to cover a 55 gallon foot print? Its time to either replace T5 or upgrade and it looks like going the Par bulb route is the less expensive for LED.

    It is! I put 4 par30 kits from Boost LED on my 55 gallon and love them! word on the street is they may be having a sale on Labor day weekend...

    What do you want to keep? Is this a high, or medium light tank? For coverage, 5 60 degrees would probably be very good. You could maybe get away with 4, but there would probably be more of a spotlight effect, with bigger gaps. I'd probably do 6 or 7 if you want even, intense illumination.

    Here is mine, it doesn't seem to spotlight at all and the direct light is to much for my bta while my trumpet loves it!

    you can buy them with or iothout the bulbs through BoostLED. I am debating if I am going to utilize them or do something else... I did the four bulbs but I may hang them from the ceiling....

    I bought them together from BOOST LED, they are on sale this weekend too I believe...
