So yah.. I'm sure this will be a mixed bag of advice.. but lets try it anyway

155g bowfront.. going through the cycle now.. I currently house a pair of orange clowns in a 12g tank along with a clown gobie.. hoping to add these along with a pair of black/white clowns to the 155g when its done cycling... I've heard a few different things but don't know if the sizable tank will make the difference or not..

    thx ahead of time!

What type of clowns? I assume you mean ocellaris. In the case of ocellaris clownfish, they are rather passive for clowns, and two pair should be okay in a 155.

I would say if you do attempt this make sure you have another home for one of the pairs just in case. I would be a little leery.

I'll introduce them all at the same time.. so hopefully they just each pick a side of the tank.. we'll see, i'll definitely have my 12g up and running for awhile afterwards though

I did see a pic of your tank in another thread and noticed that there really isn't a lot of rock work for them to claim territories. That would be a thought to ponder on as well.

There's actually 4 or 5 good sized caves nestled away in those structures.. some of the rocks weigh up to 20lbs a piece.. so they're good size chunks as well.. the corners each have caves behind them and on the one side there's actually somewhat of a cave system with nooks large enough for 2 clowns to... well you know.. do what clowns do..

Kind of had the idea of two seperate sides and a tank more geared towards gobies.. but we'll see how it works out with fish I guess

I wish you luck. I also wanted a pair of each but would never try it. I couldn't tell you which one I like more the orange or black. So good luck to you. Keep us posted.

You could do a pair of one orange and one black. They may be different colors, but they're the same species. In my opinion, a 155 should be able to hold two pair of ocellaris, but its true that you never can be sure with clownfish.
