Well...after trying to find cheap vinyl and failing miserable I decided to just not go with a back ground. Then I decided that the wires in the back would look bad. What type of paint should I use to paint the back of the tank? Obviously glass paint, but I really need names so I know what to look for at the store.

When the video decides to start working I will check it out. I'll buy paint tonight. Thank you. How well does it hold up to salt water?

Seems to hold up pretty good. Also having a background reflects some light back to the tank, so you will get little more out of your light. When you paint the back of a tank, algae don’t seem to grow on the back as much. (I don’t know why, I just know it’s true)

I would not paint it unless you are 110% sure you'll never need to change it, it may only take 5 minutes to add it but if you ever need to scrapper it your looking at needing some serious elbow grease. I know my LFS sells those laminated backgrounds, even 1 with black on one side and blue on the other. There is a product you can spray on the tank then apply the background and squeegee out the air bubble, looks just like it was painted on. A dab of Vaseline will do the same thing.
