paint back of tank?

    Hello everyone, new to the club.i have a ques. I have a 55 gal. tank and i was wondering the pros and cons of painting the back of it instead of the colorful paper.any1?

    Painting it would give you a uniform solid color rather than the possibility or salt creep, separation, water damage. It eliminates glues, tapes, silicones, etc. For cheap IMO, you can use Krylon Fusion spray paint to paint the back of your tank like i did and it works extremely well. Many people go with black for the contrast. I do, but it is completely personal opinion. The pro about a pre-made background is that is your tank is up and running it is most times your only option.     the downside of painting is hours of scraping if you dont like the look after it's been painted where the colorful backgrounds can be removed and the glass cleaned in less than 10 minutes. there are products that will adhere the background to the tank and make it look as if it is actually part of the background in the tank once the water is added
