My man had a completely torn rotator cuff, he had surgery, this was 6yrs ago. He has been very careful and still has problems with it. It's not something to mess with at all. One evening, in the bedroom, the whole shoulder popped out and he had to re-locate it himself. It was very nasty sounding and terribly painful for him. The should hurts most of the time and is very bad when the weather is going to be bad or is bad. He did all the therapy, re-hab and surgery and everything and it will never be 100%. Do all the things they tell you to get it better and you will not regret it!

yeah I have to go back in a couple of weeks, weird thing is no sling, no nothing, was just told, no lifting, no trying to do anything over my head, ect... If it hurts don't do it

said if they put it in a sling the shoulder will lock up and it'll be worse off than it is currently so it's just hope for nature to work at this point

Oh yeah, and take hydrcodone as necessary haha

Baby it, and don't try to be TUFF, I know how pridefull men can be, as well as some of us women. I learned the hard way. Little things can do big damage to torn muscles and tendons. This is one of those times when you need to relax and do everything they tell you. Hopefully you have an orthopedic doctor, don't settle for anything less. Remember what we say here on 3reef.......TAKE IT SLOW! Sue

No comment. :p Yeah shoulder injuries are nagging because your entire arm is hanging by a few ligaments, as compared to your legs. At any rate i hurt my playin baseball, ruined my career.. i was goin pro  lol well maybe not, but it hurts anyways and it never really heals up fully. GL with the rehab. Avoid twisting motions in your shoulder more than lifting imo, but lifting usually involves twisting, so.... lol GL

I can tell you from experience the best advise that you got here was "If it hurts don't do it"!

I tore mine 5 years ago, went through all the rehab and stuff and now it isn't any better than
it was 5 years ago. They now want me to have it operated on but when I asked my doctor what
the chances of it working and me being back to normal were she told me 50/50...
I ain't going through all that for no 50/50 an thats all there is to it.

eh, so my doc's office just called back, in a matter of a few hours this has gone from a "oh it'll probably just heal on it's own" to a "Um, I want to you go see a Orthopedic surgeon" :-/

Sorry to hear that. I know how painful it can be. I tore mine resetting my dislocated shoulder myself. It got better, but still not 100% (about six years ago). I am waiting till I absolutely can't stand it to have the surgery.
