    I think this is the best way to silence a back-drilled overflow.

    Here's a picture that might help that I found on another site, although just one instance, the system in this picture is very fail-safe and possibly overengineered. :)

    i like it. im going to attempt this idea. it will take me a while cause all the fittings in on and around the bulkhead are glue beyond purpose. again thanks for the help

    When I'm trying to figure stuff out, I use teflon tape only on the joints. The tape will seal the joint and it alows the pipe to seat completely in the fitting so you lengt will remain the same when you go to glue it up permanently. Its only a temporary joint, but its alot cheaper than 20 - 90's and a joint of pipe, lol.
