can anyone tell me of a good overflow? my current one doesnt seem to skim from the surface well enough. I have a film on it and yes I have 1 powerhead and also the return aimed at the surface for movement, but doesnt seem like the overflow is collecting it up. any thoughts?

If you buy one, they can be expensive, alot of ppl make their own for pennies on the dollar. Check out www.marinedepot.com

I just bought an overflow box for my 90, and the brand is eshopps. I was told that they are good. But maybe yours can be fixed. I'm sure there are a lot of people on here that can help!

I will post a pics in a few minutes I can say it might be under sized for my tank. I tried in increase flow into the box by adding some small holes just under the surface because it seemed like the flow through it was to slow.

If you did what i think you did you increase your chance of causing an overflow via sump in-taking in too much incase of a power outage.

I dont believe it will because I didnt put the holes inches below water line. It is the same height as as the normal skimmer level. but the sides of my skimmer were solid, So I drilled it to add more flow
