I will be going out of town from the 18th of Dec. til past New Years. I just bought an ATO for one tank, and will pick up another next week. So, water should not be an issue. I have a friend that will be stopping by to feed. I will do a water change on the 17th (20%)...should that be enough before I go to assume everything will live? I only have 1 fish in each tank (lost another Banggai yesterday). The person coming over has 0 experience or knowledge of this hobby...so asking his to do water changes is out of the question.

You should be fine with only 1 fish in each. Just be sure you have enough water for the ATO systems. Make sure you instruct what to do if the power goes off as well. Sometimes power strips, GFCIs need to be reset after a failure. Really no need to feed every day - every couple days will be ok.

yea....make sure you have extra RO water made up for your friend to refill the ATO container. I know if I left that long it would need to be filled a couple times.
