Our Progress - 46 bowfront

Long time, no post! The tank is doing great - dealing with "life" issues. I'm glad Jwin is still filling in for me...

 

All kinds of tank changes to report. First of all, our blenny decided to take a rest on the clam mantle and got squished. That made me sick. I found him with his head inside the clam, the clam closed up, and just his body sticking out. Not a pleasant sight. Fortunately, Jwin was home when I started yelling...

Then, we moved the purple pseudochromis to the Biocube with Bo the mantis - strange relationship - they actually stay in the same cave. He was evicted from the main tank because we wanted to try a mandarin. Found a really nice male at the LFS and he died 2 days later....We had pods and everything. I don't know what happened.

So, now I'm down a few fish and was surfing at LiveAquaria. I had been pondering a wrasse to replace our six-line and not sure what else. I had decided on a fairy or flasher and found a nice McCosker's flasher wrasse in Divers Den, but they also had a really nice looking peppermint hogfish. I calculated my inches of fish and had plenty of room for both, so I took the chance. I had never ordered fish and was really worried about it! During acclimation, the hogfish was doing great, but the wrasse was lying in the bottom of the bag. To make a long story short, I didn't think the wrasse had a chance, but he's come back from the dead twice now (very long story) and both are doing great. Will post pictures later - if I remember how....

Been reading through your build...working on it anway! You and Jwin have done some great work over there. Welcome back. Can't wait to see the FTS of how the tank looks today.

wow this tank is looking great i was trying to get a bow front but i could not find one with a great price.

After the sad part, it was a good update! It's been a long time since I've seen you or Jwin on here. Glad to have ya back.

One of my dad's friends got a 46 BF(saltwater) but made some bad choices to start with & has to basically restart. I'll see if I can get a hold of him be sure to mention 3reef.
