I have been following along somewhat for a while now and just wanted to chime in and tell you how inpressed I am by your tank and thank you for the inspiration you have given me(although my wife is not completely thrilled with all the upgrades I have planned).;D

Thanks for the very kind words, and more importantly welcome to 3reef! :) I'm just happy that people can draw from our thread to help themselves. I've already had people pull from my canopy design, and I'm not complaining at all about "copy cats" like some would! That's what 3reef is about, sharing ideas and helping people out. Good luck with your endeavor, and don't forget to post a build thread with lots of pics! :D
    Thanks! :D Glad to help.
Thank you! The most recent thing we've done to the aquascape is we took out a big shell on the left (not a big change), but then we moved that rock on the front bottom left side and placed it on the far right side lying vertically. It had two shrooms on it, so now our cave or overhango n the left side looks bigger without it in front of it. Also, we started out with about 45 pounds of rock, and we added on over a few weeks some more rock increasing our poundage to about 75 lbs.

Keep in mind, we started out with this thing bone dry noobs to the core :) We still consider ourselves as newbies - ish. Maybe intermediate? But still definitely more to learn. Our tank is almost 9 months old, and that's how long we consider ourselves to be in this hobby. Even though we started our reading and research about 11 or 12 months ago ;)

I snapped some more FTS pics to show. Hopefully I'll have them up tomorrow or my mom will have them up before then.

interesting how we have about the same amount of rock, but mine seems to at least look like more, guess it's the different aquascaping

Yep it's all how you place the rocks. Plus we have some rock down in the sump...I'd guess the tank amount is about 65 or 70 lbs. What would be even better is me just shooting a quick video of our tank and how it's running. That would help out a ton more than me explaining things in this thread :) I'll work on that...

We got the RO unit - our wonderful prize from Matt and the contest! ;D I want to put the unit under the sink in my fish room (former wet bar, now fish room :p), but the water pressure was too low. Our pressure was lowered about a year ago to meet "code" for our gas water heater/expansion tank, so not much I can do about that. Matt suggested getting a booster pump, which we may do. We can get the right water pressure by connecting the unit to an outside faucet, so Justin filled up my water bottles the other day. We're going to try one more place - under the kitchen sink. If that won't work, I'm going back to the fish room with a booster pump. Will post pictures when we get everything resolved!

Oh mama...I think you should post the FTS pictures I took on the camera. I can't do it myself because I have no clue where you hid your beloved camera. :)

And I have a video I took...I don't know if I should post it because the video really doesn't do the colors justice. :p I might. Who knows.
